Life of a Student

Nerd vs. Geek (alternative Gnerk

There was a time in your life that you were called a nerd or a geek.
It was probably misused too.

The dictionary definitions are also wrong. Trust me. I’m a gnerk.

A nerd is defined as someone who has obtained more than enough information on a subject and SHOWS OFF HIS/HER KNOWLEDGE. Remind you of anyone? d;

A geek is defined as someone who continues to obtain information about a subject but DOES NOT SHOW OFF: shy about their knowledge.

Unfortunately, this draws a very thick line and many students follow in that line, less so than the ones that are separately a nerd or a geek.

That is where my new word comes in.

A gnerk is defined as someone who continues to obtain information about ANY subject just to learn. Aka. Someone who loves learning [that subject] in particular, rather than showing off how much they can learn.

Also sound like someone?

This may be you.
